State of the Co-Op

On January 13th, KCFC member-owners met in the cafe for a State of The Co-op presented by the Board of Directors. The meeting is part of our ongoing commitment to be more transparent and engaging to our membership. We will be hosting these meetings monthly.

Last month we set a goal to raise $20,000 at the end of December and an additional $20,000 through the month of January. Through the power that is this community we were able to reach the goal of $20,000 in a single week. We used the money to pay construction debt, vendor debt, and add more than $10,000 worth of products to the shelves.

Reporting on our progress towards the January target, the Board shared that we were nearly 40% towards that goal as of the meeting on 1/13. Since the meeting fundraising has continued, and we’re now over 62% of the way at the time of this post!

During the meeting we discussed three important fundraising opportunities:

We also updated members on the progress we’ve made towards the implementation of our Five-Point Strategic Plan since our December meeting.

Since the meeting, KCFC is also proud to announce that total revenue has increased week-over-week for each of the past four weeks, for the weeks concluding on January 25, 2020.
