Important announcement regarding COVID-19:
Late yesterday afternoon we learned that a staff person tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member last worked Wednesday from 11am to 7pm. They also worked 2pm-8pm on Tuesday and 9am-3pm on Monday this week.
This employee was masked for their entire shift. The CDC defines close contact as within a 6 ft area for a period of more than 15 minutes. For those reasons we do not believe that placed any of our shoppers at risk. However, there are staff members that do fall within those parameters and they were sent into quarantine upon learning of the positive test. It’s important to note that the staff person who tested positive, is at home with mild symptoms and that none of the staff that were sent into quarantine displayed any symptoms. All of our staff that miss time due to COVID will be paid.
With the information we have now, we are comfortable opening today with abbreviated hours 10am-6pm . We will continue to monitor the situation and will announce any necessary changes to protect customers and staff alike.
Like everyone else, we are closely monitoring the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine, and are hopeful that Co-op employees, categorized as “1B essential workers” by the CDC, will be able to get vaccinated soon. We are anxious to cooperate with local public health officials to do whatever we can to facilitate getting our staff vaccinated as expeditiously as possible.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate the Co-op through the pandemic. Your support has helped sustain us and we’re optimistic about the future. Please check back for up to date hours of operation and information.
Sincerely,
Mike Richards, General Manager
