It is with great sadness and disappointment that we must share that KCFC will begin a major scaling down of its grocery operations immediately. Over the last year, KCFC’s sales have steadily declined, even after its relaunch in January 2023. We are now faced with the unfortunate reality that KCFC cannot keep the grocery store open full-time. Please know that this decision was not easy for the Board and every option was painstakingly explored.
Management has advised the Board that KCFC does not have enough funds to continue the current store format and steps must be taken to ensure that we can meet payroll for KCFC’s staff. Product orders have been halted and KCFC’s remaining inventory is now offered at a 30% discount.
This is not KCFC’s final chapter.
We will redirect our efforts to reopening the BrewCafé. We will explore partnering with an established grocer. We still see great potential with the space that we as a community built together and we want to fulfill our fiduciary duty to our member-owners and all of our stakeholders.
