If you are interested in increasing your involvement with the Kensington Community Food Co-op, now’s your chance! As of October 14th, we are seeking candidates for two appointed Director positions to help the Board create and achieve a shared vision for the short- and long-term future of the Co-op. While participation in a member-owned cooperative can take many forms, the governing responsibility falls upon the Board of Directors, a body of member-owners tasked with representing the membership.
In August 2021, Jeff Carpenter notified the Board of his resignation. Olivia Kalasky notified the Board in September 2021 of her resignation. The Board officially accepted Jeff’s and Olivia’s resignations at the September 2021 Board meeting. We are grateful for Jeff’s and Olivia’s time and contributions to the Kensington Community Food Co-op.
The KCFC Board of Directors is actively reaching out to member-owners about opportunities to join the board in an appointed capacity. We are particularly interested in diversifying our Board and adding skill sets that can advance the success of our unique grocery store in Kensington. These appointed Directors would serve out the remainder of the year until the next Board election, which will be April 2022. If you or someone you know is a KCFC member-owner in good standing and eager to volunteer time to support the governance of our co-op, please reach out at [email protected].
